Abbotswood
Abbotswood comprises about 80 detached properties on a mixture of private and public roads developed in the early part of the 20th century as a garden suburb in the Arts and Crafts style by the architect Alfred Claude Burlingham. The estate was officially designated a Conservation Area in 2011 and includes 2 nationally listed properties and nine locally listed properties. The Abbotswood website is intended as a useful resource for local residents, and the residents of Burpham generally, with information about local amenities, local tradesmen, advice on planning matters, design guides for energy efficiency, and some local news, albeit a little tongue in cheek at times.
