****With storms forecast for Saturday 7th June, we’ve decided to postpone the walk until Saturday 14th June***
Meet 11.00 in Rhododendron Wood Car Park at Leith Hill Place at RH5 6LU (10 miles from Burpham) for a delightful 2.5 mile walk taking in both Leith Hill and Leith Hill Place. The walk takes us to the Tower on Leith Hill where we can enjoy lunch at the café or a packed lunch whilst we take in the spectacular views. A quick tour of the tower is optional but costs £3. We then carry on around the circular walk until we arrive back at Leith Hill Place which was the childhood home of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and now a National Trust property. It also houses an important collection of Wedgewood pottery. Entrance fee is £5.50 for those who wish to stay to visit. The car park is accessed through the beautiful rhododendron garden. How can I subscribe to the BCA?
The committee members and helpers of the BCA are all local people who work for the community on a voluntary basis. However, in order to keep things running smoothly, there are expenses which need to be paid (printing, postage, stationery etc); and financial support to community events.
