WALK WAS RESCHEDULED TO THIS DATE BECAUSE OF ILLNESS.
Roam Leith Hill at prime rhododendron time, plus the tower, and the option to visit home of composer Vaughan Williams. Nice lunches available.
It costs £6 to visit house, tower and grounds. NT members go free.
The walk will take us along part of the Greensand Way up to the Tower which is an amazing viewpoint. Refreshments like hot pasties are available at the Tower. Access to the tower costs £3.50p but is free for NT members. We will then carry on down some steep steps and around a circular walk which takes us back to Leith Hill Place. Leith Hill Place was the childhood home of the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. Unfortunately, Leith Hill Place is temporarily closed to the public but we can look at it from the outside. Finally, we complete the circular walk through the amazing rhododendron garden which should be in full bloom. The whole walk is about 2.5 miles and is fabulous. You are welcome to join us. It would be helpful if you could let us know if you are coming at secretary@burphamca.org.uk
